1:1 Coaching: Coffee Ethic, Leicester

Tasneem from ethical coffee house Coffee Ethic approached me because she was looking for content inspiration, although she had a good knowledge of Facebook, she wanted more guidance on how to target the relevant audience and raise the business’s profile on both Facebook and Instagram, a channel that she was still very much getting the grips of. Her main reason for having this session was to promote the vegan teas she hosts on a monthly basis.

My role was very much to show her how she could be projecting her brand better. We looked at targeted advertising, content inspiration and strategy. We spoke about how to use instagram stories to grow the business and how she could use Facebook Groups to increase awareness. We also discussed creative ways she could grow the brand offline. Finally, I  gave her a tutorial on how to use IGTV, Instagrams take on You Tube. Growing a brand takes dedication but I understand how time consuming it can also be and isn’t always a priority, so I also showed her a content plan template which she could use to help organise her posts and save time. You can see Tasneem’s testimonial here.

1:1 Coaching, Spicy Masterclass, Leicester

Bhavna, brainchild of the newest Indian cooking masterclass known as Spicy Masterclass approached me to get some advice about how to market her new business. Spicy Masterclass is an intensive cookery class specialising in authentic Gujarati cooking run by Bhavna who has 30 years experience in the kitchen, passionate about teaching others her skills, she will be launching her business in September.

Her goals for the session were to get some advice on finding the right audience as well as some inspiration for Instagram and Facebook content. We went through various ways of discovering target audiences as well as best practice and lots of content examples, something she said she needed specific help on. We picked out USPs that were used to create a new Instagram profile description and we discussed the importance of videos and lives for business growth and awareness. By the time I left she felt more confident about her marketing plan and by the evening had already started to implement what she had learnt.

As it was an intense session with lots of information, to make it more manageable, I sent over an action plan which allowed Bhavna to stay focussed giving her clear marketing goals. I suggested a second session in the future so we could explore channels more, as I believe as start up, it is likely that things might change. Another great session followed by a lovely testimonial which you can read here.

Inspired Coaching – The story so far…

Last week I completed my sixth Social Media Coaching session. The main digital channels I have been covering are websites, blogs, Facebook and Instagram (Soon to move on to LinkedIn).

To summarise, I work with small businesses and independents to help create digital marketing strategies to grow their businesses online. Ultimately, I train, advise and inspire!

Being a creative I thrive from variety so creating unique content for different businesses on a regular basis really excites me, not only am I achieving one my main passions of helping small businesses but I am also learning by the minute (Learning is very important to my personal growth). Although each session is very different, they all have one thing in common, they’re empowering!

When I first started my career after studying psychology at university, I worked in schools teaching children with disabilities via small group sessions and 1:1s in the classroom. The satisfaction I got from empowering others was something I never forgot and I am so happy to be able to return to this but this time being able to incorporate my 9 years of digital marketing experience.

Starting a new business I believe is very much a journey, so watch this space to see where this one goes…

1:1 Coaching, ISKCON, Leicester

My most recent 1:1 was with Amit, an ISKCON devotee who has been dedicating his spare time to promoting a spiritual course being run by the School of Vedic Studies

As the course is due to start in September, he had some clear objectives he wanted to achieve from the session which revolved around building awareness and increasing sign ups via Facebook. During the session we looked primarily at Facebook, we went through the advantages of Facebook events and explored new groups that he should be focussing his time marketing too based on size and engagement. I also offered content ideas for the website, topics based on buzz words that would help to encourage link backs and raise interests around the course. As well as giving advice on best practice and the importance of analytics when planning your content, we also looked at existing posts and mocked up examples that might work better in attracting the  potential customers.

Following the session I sent over a summary and an action plan as well as some extra suggestions all aimed to leave him with some food for thought and a clear marketing strategy for future marketing activities.

Thursday last week, I conducted my first Social Media Coaching Session with Hetal from Ruby & Fi – Events with Style

Hetal had a number of challenges she wanted to address including help with content ideas for her blog and rules around posting on Social Media Channels especially Facebook & Instagram. I spent time preparing a handout giving her lots of advice and tips which we worked through, the session was really relaxed and also included a little tutorial on how she could be using more Facebook and Instagram stories to market herself and the business.

Content Ideas: Events

Whether you’re attending an event, hosting one or just taking part as a bystander, events act as really great content and should definitely be included as a blog post on your website (as well as stories & posts on your social channels). The easiest way to explain how to do this is by sharing an event I went to myself, hopefully inspiring you to create something similar.

Blog Post: The Body Shop Blogger Event

I set up my Instagram alter ago @thoughtsfashionlifestyle back in 2016 when I lived in London. If I have to be honest, I wanted a place where I could post every aspect of my life including lots of photos of myself (without feeling vain).

As I get closer to leaving my full time job, I am seeking out more and more blogger opportunities so I can grow my following. Yesterday I was invited to my first blogger event in Leicester hosted by The Body Shop aka Highcross_beautybloggers in the Highcross Centre.

The event started at 6pm and on arrival we were given the itinerary for the evening and were invited to explore the store. I haven’t shopped at The Body Shop for many years but was pretty excited by the variety of products they had on offer especially the Ramadan gift sets, its so refreshing to see brands catering for all festivities.

We were then split into 2 groups and met some of the team who went through new products. The demo started with Drops of Youth range, the formulation is made of three plant stem cells: edelweiss from the Italian Alps, criste marine and sea holly from the Brittany Coast. The combination of creams, washes and lotions has been created to tackle early signs of ageing, which so many of us worry about nowadays.

Youth

Then we headed over to the make up area to look at the latest products in the world of Body Shop Make up. I particularly loved the face mists available in four different yummy flavours. The Honey Bronze Drops of Sun also really caught my eye, I love the idea of being able to bled your moisturiser with these drops to maintain a holiday glow (even when its mid winter).

Face Mist

The final demo was of the new Body Yogurts, fast absorbing and suitable for all skin types with a really nice texture, and can be applied straight on to damp skin and apparently lasts 48 hours!

Yogurt

Overall, a lovely evening and a great chance to sample some new products, get some beauty and skincare advice, meet some fellow Leicester influencers and I even left with a personalised goody bag. Win Win is what I say! Thanks Body Shop Leicester, look forward to lots more of events!
