1:1 Coaching, Young Living

Valerie Sheldon approached me to help her build a strategy that would support her business growth.

We started by going through some all important questions aimed at helping her to create better content for the 2 main channels she focusses on Facebook and Instagram. After going through best practice including do’s and don’ts, we then looked at inspiration and I gave her lots of techniques to help her engage better with her audience as well as ways in which she could be using stories more effectively. We spoke about content planning and finished the session looking  at some really good examples I picked out for her that would inspire her, people in the industry that are doing a really good job!

Here is what she said about the session:

‘I had a session with Renu last month. I was doing social media everyday, but not using it to the whole advantage (since I didn’t know what I was doing!)

Renu was very professional, and had researched my business, and had comparisons for me to look at. She told me where I could improve, and since doing her course, I’ve had 2 strangers become clients, and my following is going up rapidly everyday. (I used to get lots of follow/unfollows, and now it’s genuine!)
Definitely worth having a session with her.’

1:1 Coaching: Coffee Ethic, Leicester

Tasneem from ethical coffee house Coffee Ethic approached me because she was looking for content inspiration, although she had a good knowledge of Facebook, she wanted more guidance on how to target the relevant audience and raise the business’s profile on both Facebook and Instagram, a channel that she was still very much getting the grips of. Her main reason for having this session was to promote the vegan teas she hosts on a monthly basis.

My role was very much to show her how she could be projecting her brand better. We looked at targeted advertising, content inspiration and strategy. We spoke about how to use instagram stories to grow the business and how she could use Facebook Groups to increase awareness. We also discussed creative ways she could grow the brand offline. Finally, I  gave her a tutorial on how to use IGTV, Instagrams take on You Tube. Growing a brand takes dedication but I understand how time consuming it can also be and isn’t always a priority, so I also showed her a content plan template which she could use to help organise her posts and save time. You can see Tasneem’s testimonial here.

1:1 Coaching, Baby Clothes Direct

Baby Clothes Direct approached me for some expert advice on their brand. The business who specialise in garment manufacturing have existed since 1994 but have only recently started growing their business with the UK. This company is a new venture, so they were keen to get some insights before focussing on growing their Social Media Channels.

The session took place with two members of the Baby Clothes Direct Team. They wanted advice on the below:

  • What content should be posted for a businesses like ours?
  • What do people respond to most – discounts, new products etc?
  • How to broaden our reach?
  • To understand who to follow and what statistics we should be focusing on.

During the 2 hours, we focussed on a variety of areas including website content, discussing ways this could be improved to help SEO. We also looked at ways to grow Instagram following, USPs and content ideas & inspiration. We also looked at ways to grow the business using various offline channels.

Sessions always end up offering much more information then clients expect and I understand how overwhelming it can be, so my email follow ups include a clear action plan that help give direction and priorities. 1:1 Coaching, Spicy Masterclass, Leicester

Bhavna, brainchild of the newest Indian cooking masterclass known as Spicy Masterclass approached me to get some advice about how to market her new business. Spicy Masterclass is an intensive cookery class specialising in authentic Gujarati cooking run by Bhavna who has 30 years experience in the kitchen, passionate about teaching others her skills, she will be launching her business in September.

Her goals for the session were to get some advice on finding the right audience as well as some inspiration for Instagram and Facebook content. We went through various ways of discovering target audiences as well as best practice and lots of content examples, something she said she needed specific help on. We picked out USPs that were used to create a new Instagram profile description and we discussed the importance of videos and lives for business growth and awareness. By the time I left she felt more confident about her marketing plan and by the evening had already started to implement what she had learnt.

As it was an intense session with lots of information, to make it more manageable, I sent over an action plan which allowed Bhavna to stay focussed giving her clear marketing goals. I suggested a second session in the future so we could explore channels more, as I believe as start up, it is likely that things might change. Another great session followed by a lovely testimonial which you can read here.

Inspired Coaching – The story so far…

Last week I completed my sixth Social Media Coaching session. The main digital channels I have been covering are websites, blogs, Facebook and Instagram (Soon to move on to LinkedIn).

To summarise, I work with small businesses and independents to help create digital marketing strategies to grow their businesses online. Ultimately, I train, advise and inspire!

Being a creative I thrive from variety so creating unique content for different businesses on a regular basis really excites me, not only am I achieving one my main passions of helping small businesses but I am also learning by the minute (Learning is very important to my personal growth). Although each session is very different, they all have one thing in common, they’re empowering!

When I first started my career after studying psychology at university, I worked in schools teaching children with disabilities via small group sessions and 1:1s in the classroom. The satisfaction I got from empowering others was something I never forgot and I am so happy to be able to return to this but this time being able to incorporate my 9 years of digital marketing experience.

Starting a new business I believe is very much a journey, so watch this space to see where this one goes…

Content Ideas: 5 things you didn’t know…

The second part of my Content Ideas (For your blog) series is focussed on the goal of drawing your customer closer to you. A really good way to do this is by helping them get to know the brand better, this will help to build a stronger connection and acts as a really interesting read, it’s also content that will be very unique to you. Finally, it gives you something to talk about and can act as a great way to build a variety of Social Media posts that will help bulk up your Social Media plan.

To help you understand what this kind of Blog Post would look like, I have done an example below.  In this case, as I am the brand, my 5 things will revolve around getting to know me.

Blog Post: 5 Things you didn’t know about Renu Ravalia

  1. I am a middle child and I have 2 sisters, one is based in London and the other in Nigeria. Therefore, I have visited Nigeria twice and I absolutely loved it!
  2. I used to write content for online fashion magazines FashionBeans and Push It. I would love to get back in the Fashion Writing and this is one of my goals for 2018.
  3. Although I work in Digital Marketing now, I actually studied psychology and spent my early career working for non profit organisations. To this day, human behaviour still fascinates me.
  4. I meditate daily, twice a day. Meditation is a massively important part of my daily routine, as is spirituality.
  5. My favourite food in the whole world is Chinese and more specifically Dim Sum, I could eat a Char Sui Pork Bun any time of the day. (although traditionally Dim Sum is only served at lunch time)

Tip: Don’t forget this is a good opportunity to also use a selection of key words related to your product/service to improve your SEO.
