Digital Marketing Consultancy – FU Media

Once in a while, I am approached by businesses to help them with their Social Media Strategy. At the end of last year it was a local media company.

FU Media got in touch as they were looking at how they could improve their strategy. FU Media run 2 magazines in Birmingham and Leicestershire: DLuxe Magazine & Sixty9 Magazine, both of which are purely print magazines. Founder Kevin was keen to understand more about how the magazines could be taken online and how Social Media could help support its commercial growth.

I sat down with the Digital Marketing team and we started with brainstorming questions to help differentiate the 2 magazines, their audience and their goals, we then explored the following:

–  Ways of improving the content on their Social Media channels
–  How to improve engagement on Social Media
–  Examples of how they can make website and website content more appealing & user friendly
–  How better to use emails post events

A session like this really opens up businesses eyes on how they can move the brand into the online space and acts as a great foundation for building a digital marketing strategy.

When I conduct a session one of the things I always focus on is content ideas, I constantly  find people getting stuck with what to post and my job is to be the fly on the wall and give them some inspiration, I often use themes to base content plans around as I feel this helps give some clear direction.

1:1 Coaching, Baby Clothes Direct

Baby Clothes Direct approached me for some expert advice on their brand. The business who specialise in garment manufacturing have existed since 1994 but have only recently started growing their business with the UK. This company is a new venture, so they were keen to get some insights before focussing on growing their Social Media Channels.

The session took place with two members of the Baby Clothes Direct Team. They wanted advice on the below:

  • What content should be posted for a businesses like ours?
  • What do people respond to most – discounts, new products etc?
  • How to broaden our reach?
  • To understand who to follow and what statistics we should be focusing on.

During the 2 hours, we focussed on a variety of areas including website content, discussing ways this could be improved to help SEO. We also looked at ways to grow Instagram following, USPs and content ideas & inspiration. We also looked at ways to grow the business using various offline channels.

Sessions always end up offering much more information then clients expect and I understand how overwhelming it can be, so my email follow ups include a clear action plan that help give direction and priorities. Social Media Work(Fun)shop

Last week I hosted my first Social Media Workshop in Leicester, to be honest, it was more like a Funshop as it really didn’t feel like work and I got the impression everyone who attended felt the same. The feedback was really positive with everyone commenting on how they found it very positive and beneficial to their business (Testimonials to follow).

The attendees of this intimate session, came from a variety of businesses from different industries. This included:

  • How to grow your following – What techniques could you be adopting to grow your following organically.
  • Content Inspiration – Inspiration for your business on what you could be posting across your channels.


Bespoke Social Media Workshops in Leicester 

Each workshop is targeted specifically at small businesses and independents who want to grow their brand. The content is written based on the businesses needs so each course outline will vary depending on the group. Following the session, each person gets an email consultation specific to their business. The sessions are small and intimate with a maximum of 6 businesses attending to ensure maximum value. As budgets can be tight, the sessions are set at an affordable price.
