1:1 Coaching, House to Home by Leena

Leena first came to me back in November wanting help marketing her Interior Design Blog, her second session was focussed more on getting the hang of WordPress, a platform I have been managing for 9 years.

Every 1:1 session is written based on the goals and Leena’s were very specific:

1) Advice & suggestions for website layout
2) Linking Social Media Channels
3) How to market blogs and advice on WordPress features such as tags, categories and SEO
4) Other advice and guidance on how to manage her blog

The session included ways she could improve the blog including suggestions of how to make it more user friendly. We looked at inspiration for topics of blog posts including advice on her writing style and best practice. We finished with a clearer idea of what she needs to do to grow the blog and how to do it.

Leena said the following about the session:

‘Renu has offered a wealth of information and experience when we’ve had our social media sessions. As I am new to maximising the potential of social media, Renu has provided useful tips and tricks on how I can make the most of what I am doing to make it count for me and also my followers. Being a mum and still working full time, I need to be able to do things that are efficient as well as work for me rather than against me and my business. By having Renu’s expertise I’ve made small changes which have been so useful in moving my business forward in the social media space. I hope to implement more of Renu’s tips in the year to come so that I can take my business to where I’d like it to be.’

Inspired Coaching – The story so far…

Last week I completed my sixth Social Media Coaching session. The main digital channels I have been covering are websites, blogs, Facebook and Instagram (Soon to move on to LinkedIn).

To summarise, I work with small businesses and independents to help create digital marketing strategies to grow their businesses online. Ultimately, I train, advise and inspire!

Being a creative I thrive from variety so creating unique content for different businesses on a regular basis really excites me, not only am I achieving one my main passions of helping small businesses but I am also learning by the minute (Learning is very important to my personal growth). Although each session is very different, they all have one thing in common, they’re empowering!

When I first started my career after studying psychology at university, I worked in schools teaching children with disabilities via small group sessions and 1:1s in the classroom. The satisfaction I got from empowering others was something I never forgot and I am so happy to be able to return to this but this time being able to incorporate my 9 years of digital marketing experience.

Starting a new business I believe is very much a journey, so watch this space to see where this one goes…

Content Ideas: Events

Whether you’re attending an event, hosting one or just taking part as a bystander, events act as really great content and should definitely be included as a blog post on your website (as well as stories & posts on your social channels). The easiest way to explain how to do this is by sharing an event I went to myself, hopefully inspiring you to create something similar.

Blog Post: The Body Shop Blogger Event

I set up my Instagram alter ago @thoughtsfashionlifestyle back in 2016 when I lived in London. If I have to be honest, I wanted a place where I could post every aspect of my life including lots of photos of myself (without feeling vain).

As I get closer to leaving my full time job, I am seeking out more and more blogger opportunities so I can grow my following. Yesterday I was invited to my first blogger event in Leicester hosted by The Body Shop aka Highcross_beautybloggers in the Highcross Centre.

The event started at 6pm and on arrival we were given the itinerary for the evening and were invited to explore the store. I haven’t shopped at The Body Shop for many years but was pretty excited by the variety of products they had on offer especially the Ramadan gift sets, its so refreshing to see brands catering for all festivities.

We were then split into 2 groups and met some of the team who went through new products. The demo started with Drops of Youth range, the formulation is made of three plant stem cells: edelweiss from the Italian Alps, criste marine and sea holly from the Brittany Coast. The combination of creams, washes and lotions has been created to tackle early signs of ageing, which so many of us worry about nowadays.

Then we headed over to the make up area to look at the latest products in the world of Body Shop Make up. I particularly loved the face mists available in four different yummy flavours. The Honey Bronze Drops of Sun also really caught my eye, I love the idea of being able to bled your moisturiser with these drops to maintain a holiday glow (even when its mid winter).

The final demo was of the new Body Yogurts, fast absorbing and suitable for all skin types with a really nice texture, and can be applied straight on to damp skin and apparently lasts 48 hours!

Overall, a lovely evening and a great chance to sample some new products, get some beauty and skincare advice, meet some fellow Leicester influencers and I even left with a personalised goody bag. Win Win is what I say! Thanks Body Shop Leicester, look forward to lots more of events!
