Being nominated for an award is a massive achievement for any business owner and should 100% be shouted about all over your Social Media channels, so why do so many people still not do it?
As good marketing is all about storytelling, a nomination shouldn’t just include one social media post with a photo of your nominee badge, be creative with your content and take advantage of the before, during and afters.

A common problem businesses have is not having a bio that represents themselves well enough, in fact some don’t write one at all and I believe this is because either they don’t know what to write OR they don’t realise how important it is
Your instagram bio is the first thing a customer will see when they go to your profile. It is a chance for you to sell yourself and describe more about your business! To help do this, common questions I ask clients to think about are:
What is your product/service
What makes it special
What makes your different
If you can summarise these – you can create a bio that will help attract your ideal audience.

The days have gone on Instagram when you can post a photo, put a short description, a few hashtags and see your engagement flurry, well unless you are a big brand with thousands of followers.
Apart from things like timing which is of course an important thing to think about and using certain # to help target your audience. You need to be thinking about what you are posting and ways in which you can be adding value to your audience if you want to see positive growth.
There are 3 questions I believe you should be asking yourself when you are about to post an image but firstly, I think the process of sharing an image should start by putting yourself in your customers position, would you like this post?
– Are your posts adding value
– Are your posts sharing your personal opinion
– Are you solving problems for your customer

When I conduct a session one of the things I always focus on is content ideas, I constantly find people getting stuck with what to post and my job is to be the fly on the wall and give them some inspiration, I often use themes to base content plans around as I feel this helps give some clear direction.
Instagram is THE channel at the moment, it was recently reported it had 300 million monthly active users. To put that figure into context, this was compared to Facebook’s 228 million and Twitter’s 9 million. So basically what I am trying to say is, it’s the channel you need to be on. Many people I work with come to me with the burning question ‘How do I grow following’ and I spend a lot of time working with them to build a strategy and develop original content ideas.
If this is a question that has been on your lips for a while, there are a few things you can do to help grow the channel which I would like to share with you:
Post Consistently – The best results come from those who post often. Personally, if you can create a strategy that includes unique content, you’ll also be able to stand out of the crowd.
Use quality hashtags – I did a post about hashtags a little while back. It is definitely worth spending some time researching the best hashtags to use. Need to know how and where to use them? Check out my recent article here.
Engage – Engaging with your audience is so important. Engagement is one of the top determinators of whether a post will be showed or not. However, don’t worry, you don’t need to spend hours messaging every follower, simply engage your followers by liking or replying to their comments to your posts.
